Alamogordo Primate Facility Lippy Chimpanzee
Lippy Chimpanzee was born November 28, 1967 and was euthanized September 27, 2004. His id number was CB0031. He was HIV negative, was positive for HCV and carried HBV. His death is officially recorded as, " Euthanzied due severe acute thromboembolism affecting the internal ileac arteries. Condition may have been secondary to exisitng cardiac disease. The heart appeared enlarged grossly. A cardiology consult and complete histology is pending". No more information is currently available on Lippy. May he rest in peace now that he is beyond the grasp of his tormentors. Colony census is recorded by APF as 261 chimpanzees as of the end of September 2004.
