The
tatoo read #30916 on this male Rhesus Macaque born 4/16/98 at the
CNPRC. There was nothing there to indicate the suffering that was
to come for him and his needless, premature death that would occur
just 17 months later.
The
first indication there was a health problem is recorded on 3/11/99
when no weight gain in 4 months is noted in the lab records. Baytril
is prescribed but diarrhea is again noted on 3/21/99. #30916 is
moved numerous times, given Ivermectin, moved again but on 9/7/99,
he is still sick but is moved again.
On
9/16/99, weighing just 3.44 pounds, #30916 is delivered for his
necropsy (autopsy) where he is given an overdose of pentobarbital.
Nothing
in the lab records indicate that any information that would help
sick humans was found by using #30916 in CNPRC's experiments.
#30916's
life and death were in vain.
Rest
in Peace, #30916. We will always remember you.
PFP
wishes to thank Buff Whitman-Bradley for requesting
the lab records from CNPRC. Buff wears #30916's Tag.
