Alamogordo Primate Facility Muna Chimpanzee death is recorded as, "Multiple organ failure. History of chronic hepatic and renal disease." Muna died at the early age of 21. Born on 5/13/1982 and date of death, 04/01/2003, Muna would have had a different life if born in the natural habitiat where Muna belonged instead of a cell at Coulston Foundation. Known by id# 4453 and CB0376, rest in peace Muna. Documents about APF chimpanzees tell us: "3. Most of the chimpanzees have either been infected with one or more chronic viruses, and even if they were negative controls the chimpanzees have been subjected in the past to many invasive procedures such as punch biopsies of the liver and anesthetic events. These procedures are thought to contribute to long-term prolems in some animals with liver and renal failure, and various blood abnormalities."
